Appointments

“If you don’t understand a problem you have little chance of fixing it”

The initial Consultation

The first consultation is a chance for you to tell me all about your problem and for me to ask questions that will guide us to understanding the problem in its entirety.

A comprehensive physical examination is carried out to identify any underlying problems that require immediate medical attention and referral, and specific functional tests to identify the root cause of the problem.

Once I am confident that the problem is within my scope of practice I will discuss the problem with you and propose a quick resolution for the problem. More often than not, the initial examination will also include a first treatment to help you as quickly as possible.

Continuation appointments

If we are unable to identify the problem in the time allocated I may ask for some extra time. This happens rarely and is usually for complicated issues. A continuation appointment will be scheduled free of charge.

Follow up appointments

A follow up appointment is required to monitor the progress and further treatment if needed. The examination is repeated to see what has resolved since the last appointment and what else needs to be addressed (if any).

Check up appointments

Once the examination shows there are no more problems and you are no longer experiencing symptoms, the treatment has been successful. Future appointments may be scheduled to control that everything remains resolved and in order to prevent the problem from returning.

Many people choose to have check up appointments every month or every 3 months to ensure normal spinal stability. This is because we use our spine so often that it requires perfect function to perform well and stay pain free.
